Being one of the most trending content on Netflix, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and Laapataa Ladies found its own share of audiences who are showering praises on both. Pratibha Ranta couldn’t be happier, being one of the only actresses who was a part of both the projects. Now, in a recent video, she has shown audiences what a collab of the show and the film will look like by recreating the famous ‘gajagamini’ walk by Aditi Rao Hydari as she is joined by her Laapataa co-star Sparsh Srivastava.

In a video shared by Netflix on their official Instagram page, Pratibha Ranta and Sparsh Srivastava are seen doing the ‘gajagamini’ walk which is a part of the web series’ song, ‘Saiyaan Hatto Jao’. The actors recreated this moment in a quirky way and also added a funny caption referring to the plotline of their movie Laapataa Ladies, as they said, ‘Kuch nahi bhai Phool ko dhundhne ja rahe hain (Nothing bro, just going to find Phool)”. The actors not only received love from fans and followers but Aditi Rao Hydari herself, who showered praises on them and added, “Bibbojaan certified! Nailed it guys”.
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar features Aditi as the courtesan Bibbojaan and her walk has definitely taken social media by storm with many influencers and content creators attempting to recreate the magic. On the other hand, Pratibha essayed the role of Aditi’s cousin Shama, daughter of Waheeda played by Sanjeeda Shaikh who is also a courtesan living in Shahi Mahal. Heeramandi traces the journey of these tawaifs, who are at the center of the pre-Independence battle between British Raj and India, but have to navigate through love, power, freedom, deceit, to achieve their respective goals.
On the other hand, Laapataa Ladies is set against the backdrop of rural India in the early 2000s as two brides lose their way to their destination but end up discovering their own-selves, in this feel-good but impactful social drama.
