Popular supermarket selling Quality Street bags that are bigger and cheaper

Asda is offering Quality Street refill bags (which can be bought in stores and online) that are larger and more affordable than the well-known tubs.

The supermarket is retailing a new refill pack of the Nestle-produced chocolates for a mere £5. These bags hold 750g of Quality Street chocolate, which is 150g more than the standard 600g tub available this year.

These refill bag costs £5 (66p per 100g) for all customers, which costs £1 less than the 600g tubs. The bags contain a variety of individually wrapped milk and dark chocolates, toffees, and the renowned Green Triangle and The Purple One.

The same refill bags are priced at £5.50 for those with a Nectar card at Sainsbury’s, or £6 for those without. Meanwhile, large refill bags cost £6 for customers with a Clubcard at Tesco or £7 for those without; their 600g tubs cost £6 for all customers.

At Morrisons, shoppers can purchase the 750g refill bags for £7 – £1 more than the chain’s 600g Quality Street tubs, which cost £6.

Home Bargains is inviting customers to indulge in a 300g sharing bag of Quality Street for only £2.99, working out neatly at £1 per 100g.

Prices can fluctuate regularly, and deals can start and end at anytime, so the chocolate tubs could still become cheaper between now and Christmas.

To illustrate, yesterday, Sainsbury’s concluded a promotion that offered customers the most affordable 600g Quality Street tub on the high street. Customers could buy a tub for a mere £3.50, but the price has now increased back to £6.

Currently, the most economical 600g tubs are available at Aldi for £4.49 (75p per 100g), however, there is still an opportunity for bargain deals to reappear at other supermarkets.

This is why it’s always best to compare prices when shopping to ensure you’re paying the cheapest amount for your purchase.

This week, customers found out they can no longer visit their local John Lewis store to create personalised Quality Street tins. This service allowed shoppers to buy a £17 tin with a personalised gift card and lid.

They could then fill these tins with their favourite Quality Street chocolates from dedicated pick-and-mix counters at John Lewis. While the pick-and-mix counters remain, shoppers cannot get a personalised Quality Street tin this winter.

Instead, they must choose the £12 non-customised version. However, Nestle introduced a new version of its 813g Quality Street tin in September.

The £12 tub features all the usual classic flavours and pays homage to Quality Street’s Halifax heritage – where it was first produced in 1936 and continues to be. It can also be purchased empty and filled at any of John Lewis’ Quality Street pick and mix stations.

Adding a dash of nostalgia to this festive season, Nestle has revived the much-missed coffee creme flavour chocolate, absent from Quality Street tins for over two decades until its triumphant return last year.

Those partial to a fusion of coffee-flavour fondant and dark chocolate can find their fix amongst the classic 11 varieties at John Lewis’ pick-and-mix stations scattered around the UK.

In a stamp of exclusivity, you may also snap up a special cracker packed with these treats for £5.50 at Waitrose and John Lewis stores.

Pushing eco-friendly innovations, Nestle is making history with the launch of paper Quality Street tubs, now trialled in 60 Tesco outlets.

These sustainable selections, dressed in iconic purple, are said to offer a deluxe experience complete with a secure “re-close” feature after each tempting dip.
