Polis orders Colorado flags half-staff for former fire chief killed in Trump assassination attempt

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis ordered the state’s flags to fly at half-staff Tuesday in memory of the former fire chief killed while protecting his family during an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania campaign rally.

Corey Comperatore, 50, was killed after diving in front of his family when gunfire rang out at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday. Trump was shot in the ear and two others were critically injured before the Secret Service killed the gunman.
