PM Modi seeking votes to make Amit Shah PM, claims Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal reiterated his claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seeking votes to make Amit Shah the PM after Modi turns 75 next year and that Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath – the last remaining ‘thorn’ in Shah’s path to becoming PM – would be ‘removed’ as soon as BJP comes to power again. The fact that no BJP leader had till now come to speak in Adityanath’s favour is a testimony to this, he said while addressing a joint press conference with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow.

“I had raised these issues in Delhi a couple of days ago and Amit Shah and other ministers had defended (saying) that PM will not resign and complete his tenure, even though Modiji himself did not say he will not retire. I am sure Modiji will follow his rule or otherwise people will say that Modiji made this rule to remove Advaniji and when it came to him he didn’t adhere to it. But when I said Yogi Adityanath will be removed in two months, no BJP leader has commented on it till now. This confirms they have planned it and nobody is willing to speak in his favour, therefore his removal is almost certain,” he said.

Kejriwal said BJP wanted “400 paar” as it wanted to end reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs. He said trends coming in from across the country showed that BJP will not win more than 220 seats. “I have been to Haryana where their seats are getting reduced, in Delhi their seats are getting cut, in Punjab they are not winning any and so on for Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, UP, Bihar and Jharkhand,” he said.

Yadav said BJP will get entangled in the game of 99 seats in UP.
