As witnessed from Cairo on Monday night, Percy Tau was named CAF Interclub Player of the Year, becoming the first-ever South African footballer to take the award home.

The 29-year-old from eMalahleni has broken the silence on social media.

“Thank you for [the] recognition,” Tau said.

“I’m humbled and pleased to be receiving the award. Special credit to the fans, coaches and my teammates,” the former Mamelodi Sundowns star concluded.

Meanwhile, Percy Tau is expected to lead Bafana at AFCON 2024 in January.
