The first two episodes of the new Percy Jackson and the Olympians television series adaptation are out now and fans are clamoring for more!
Based on the books by Rick Riordan, the new show is a more faithful adaptation of the author’s book series and it already has everyone hoping for a second season.
Now that the first episodes are out, two of the show’s producers are sharing their thoughts on the potential for a renewal.
Check out what they said inside…
“I think everyone has a real hope that this will live a long and healthy life. Right now, we’re trying to deal with step one. But we’d be lying if we said there weren’t people who are thinking about step two right now,” executive producer Jon Steinberg told Deadline.
Becky Riordan, Rick‘s wife and an executive producer on the show, added that they have started to outline it, saying, “‘Sea of Monsters’ is one of my favorites. I really love that we’re going to have more time with Grover, so I’m hoping that happens. It will be fabulous, because Aryan [Simhadri, who plays Grover] is amazing actor.”
Previously, Rick hinted that they were anticipating a renewal, and after the writers’ strike, he revealed that they have started to map out where a second season could go.
There has not yet been a renewal announcement made by Disney.
