People convinced Heinz Monster Munch mayo is prank – but it isn’t

Heinz has wowed foodies with its latest creation – a spooky pickled onion mayonnaise just in time for Halloween.

In an exciting collaboration with Monster Munch, the new sauce is inspired by the snack’s iconic flavour and has been causing quite a stir since it launched last Friday (September 20).

Foodies have been buzzing on social media after Heinz announced the partnership, introducing the “scarily good” sauce that pays homage to Monster Munch’s beloved flavour.

In a tantalising Instagram post, Heinz teased: “Say hello to [Scarily] Good Monster Munch Mayo, our limited-edition treat that will haunt your taste buds.. in the best way possible. Move aside, pumpkin spice – this is the new star of spooky season and a Halloween party essential.”

The brand suggests that the sauce is an ideal addition to any Halloween snack spread. Thiago Rapp, Kraft Heinz’s director of taste elevation, commented: “This mayo is the ultimate flavour mash-up that will add a tangy twist to any dish.”

Rapp further elaborated on the company’s commitment to innovation, stating that the product showcases their “dedication to pushing boundaries and exploring new, bold flavours that appeal to modern palates”. Although the retail price is £2.40, Heinz has given retailers the freedom to set their own pricing.

Heinz’s latest concoction has sent social media into meltdown. Overjoyed fans have been expressing their excitement on Heinz’s Instagram, as on fan said: “Monster Munch sandwich with Monster Munch mayo, my prayers have been answered.”

Another eagerly posted: “I’ve not even tried it and I know this is the best thing you’ve ever made.” A third added: “Looks incredible.”

Some were so taken aback by the announcement they questioned its authenticity. “No way,” a user remarked.

“If this is real I’m going to lose my s**t,” added another. Another user added: “Pickled onion salad cream sauce? Is this a joke?”

This isn’t the first time Heinz has created unusual sauce flavours. Previous offerings have included hot cross buns sauce, Terry’s Chocolate Orange, and even a Barbie-themed sauce.
