The High Commission of Pakistan issued visas to Indian pilgrims on March 5, 2024, to attend the Maha Shivratri festivities at Shree Katas Raj Temple, also known as Qila Katas, in Punjab province’s Chakwal district. The visas were issued under the Pakistan-India Protocol on visits to Religious Shrines of 1974. Thousands of pilgrims from India and Pakistan visit each other’s countries annually for religious festivals.
