AN OAP is fighting for his life after he was hit by a car near a busy roundabout.
The pensioner, 86, was struck by the Mercedes GLE motor on Stamperland Crescent at Clarkston Toll Roundabout in East Renfrewshire.
Mercy crews were scrambled to the scene after the alarm was raised around 5.20pm.
Paramedics raced the elderly man to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
Medical staff have said he is fighting for his life in a critical condition.
The man, 54, driving the Merc SUV was not injured in the crash.
Traffic cops shut down the road for several hours and drivers were urged to avoid the area.
Investigators are now probing the collision and have called on anyone with information to get in touch.
Any drivers who might have dashcam footage that could help the investigation to come forward.
Members of the public who were nearby have also been asked to call the investigating officers.

Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area, who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us.
“If anyone has a dash cam, please pass on any relevant footage to us as it could assist us in establishing the full circumstances of this incident.”
