Days after the company revealed the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus launch date, the brand’s co-founder took to X to share some important details about the upcoming smartphone. The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus will see the light of day on July 31st, and will likely come with a similar design as the standard Phone (2a).
The Phone (2a) Plus recently received the BIS certification and UAE’s TDRA certification with the model number A142P. The device was also spotted on the list of Jio’s 5G-compatible smartphones. Here’s what we can expect from the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus.
Nothing Phone (2a) Plus improvements teased
Nothing’s co-founder Akis Evangelidis teased on a recent X post that the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus will be a beefed-up version of the Phone (2a). Moreover, the device will come with more processing power and some additional improvements that don’t require hardware design changes. However, the details of the chipset that will power the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus are still unknown.
Phone (2a) is my favorite product we’ve ever launched. It’s a disruptive offering in a segment that had seen more of the same in recent years, providing a unique user experience true to Nothing in terms of hardware and software, while delivering everything you need in a… https://t.co/4lLbZTtgqR

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus: what to expect
From the post, it’s pretty clear that the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus will bring performance improvements over the Phone (2a). We can expect a more powerful SoC at the heart of the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. To recall, the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset is at the helm of the Phone (2a). Could we be looking at a Dimensity 8300 or Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset? Only time will tell.
Moreover, the device will feature a similar design as the Phone (2a) but could be bigger in size. This means we might see an identical Glyph Light interface with the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus as well.
Besides this, it is highly likely that the Nothing Phone (2a) may bridge the gap between the flagship Nothing Phone (2) and the midrange Phone (2a). Thus, we expect it to cost roughly Rs 30,000 in India.
Unfortunately, the complete specifications and details about the features of the Nothing Phone (2a) are still under wraps. However, we can expect more teasers and details about the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus to surface online as we get closer to its release.
