New Delhi: In a major move, the Mahindra and Mahindra has announced the integration of Dolby Atmos technology into its electric-origin SUVs, BE 6 and XEV 9e. This will mark the debut of Dolby’s collaboration with an Indian carmaker.
This collaboration brings an enhanced in-car audio experience to the customers of the two electric SUVs, enabling them to enjoy immersive sound through Gaana, the streaming platform embedded in the infotainment system.
Here are some of the key features of BE 6e and XEV 9e:
- The BE 6 and XEV 9e feature a premium audio setup with 16 Harman Kardon speakers.
- The front seats are equipped with three-way speakers comprising a tweeter, mid-range driver, and woofer
- The centre incorporates Harman’s patented unity speaker design.
- Rear surround speakers provide mid-range sound, complemented by a subwoofer and two ceiling-mounted speaker drivers.
- The BE 6e measures 4,371mm in length, with an overall ground clearance of 207mm and a battery ground clearance of 218mm.
- The BE 6e and XEV 9e, equipped with the 79kWh battery pack, boast an ARAI-certified range (MIDC phase 1 + 2) of 682km and 656km, respectively.
- Mahindra claims that in city conditions, with the AC turned on, the 79kWh battery pack delivers a range of over 500km.
- Using a 175kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
- The XEV 9e measures 4,789mm in length, offering an overall ground clearance of 207mm and a battery ground clearance of 222mm.
Based on the electric-only INGLO platform, the two electric SUVs will be available for bookings in the latter part of January 2025, while their deliveries will commence from the end of February 2025.
