Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana is one of the most highly anticipated projects. The actor will be portraying the role of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus. Alongside him, South’s most beloved actress Sai Pallavi will play Goddess Sita. However, for the longest time, it remained uncertain who would play the role of Laxman in the film. Now, after much speculation, the name that has emerged for the role of Laxman is neither from Bollywood nor South Cinema. He is an actor who has left a lasting impression with his various roles in the TV industry.
If you are wondering who we are talking about, it’s none other than Ravi Dubey. Recently, in an interview with Connect Cine, Ravi confirmed that he will be playing the role of Lakshman in the film. The actor said, “With due permission of my makers, yes, I am. What I felt was there was a certain sanctity to the project, and I feel Namit sir, Nitesh sir, might have a plan as to how they want to talk about it. I will be corrupted if I just blurt out things frivolously in front of people. It would be very unhygienic for me to say ‘No comment,’ which would be as good as a comment. So I took due permission from them, and I told them that if at all this question comes up, then what should I say? When they said yes, is when I am saying yes.”
Ravi further described the film’s narration as “earnest” and “sincere.” He also spoke about Ranbir Kapoor, stating, “This is my first time working alongside a megastar like Ranbir Kapoor, and his kindness, empathy, silence, and grace towards everyone… (is great). He has been working so hard, but he will not come on set and make it look like ‘I am like this.’ Every time he is in front of the camera, you will see he has been at it. He is the only commercial, viable artist of this generation. He is the most graceful person I have come across, and I regard and love him like my own elder brother.”
Meanwhile, the production of Nitesh Tiwari’s film is going on in full swing. A few months ago, a bunch of pictures from the shoot of the film went viral on the internet, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. Although the film’s team has yet to make an official announcement, there has been strong buzz surrounding it for some time. The makers are targeting a 2025 release for the film.
