Elvish Yadav Snake Venom Case Noida Police Removes NDPS Act, Says ‘It’s Clerical Mistake’

Elvish Yadav, the winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2, was arrested by the Noida Police on March 17 for his involvement in a snake venom case under the Wild Life Protection Act 1972. He was then sent to 14 days of judicial custody. But now, it has been reported that the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985) Act, which was also imposed on him, has been lifted by the police. They say it was a mistake on their part. The Police said, “We had imposed the NDPS Act by mistake, it was a clerical mistake.” It’s known that getting bail under the NDPS Act is very difficult.

The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985, is a law in India that prohibits the production, possession, sale, transport, and consumption of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

No Bail For Elvish Yadav

The bail hearing of Elvish Yadav got postponed when the members of the local Bar Association didn’t allow any court-related work to take place due to the strike. BJP spokesperson and lawyer Gaurav Bhatia tried his best to make the members understand the sensitivity and urgency of the hearing in the case, which also led to a slight altercation.

Elvish was taken to the Noida court along with the other two who were arrested in the same case. Watch this video of Elvish from outside the Noida court:

Earlier on Tuesday, a Noida police official told the media that Elvish was behaving as if he had nothing to fear from the authorities during his questioning. In a statement given to Indian Express, he mentioned how he maintained a certain swag and did what he did because he “wanted to paint a picture among his fans as someone who is completely unafraid of law-enforcement agencies and can do whatever he wishes.”

In November 2023, Elvish was accused of supplying snakes and snake venom after a police raid at a party in Noida Sector 39. The police found nine snakes, including five cobras, and about 20 ml of snake venom during the raid. Elvish was facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for this.
