Having made a name for himself after starting an Instagram food blog – @boredoflunch – during the Covid lockdown in 2020, Nathan Anthony has catapulted to fame.
Earning air time on ITV’s This Morning, the food lover shared his go-to recipes for all to enjoy.
One of Nathan’s best air fryer recipes involves cooking “wonderfully tasty” pork chops.
Nathan said: “Peppered pork chops make a wonderfully tasty meal, coated in a mix of savoury seasonings and crushed peppercorns.
“It’s super-quick to cook in the air fryer. Gorgeous with couscous, corn on the cob and some leafy green salad.”
Air fryer pork chops recipe
Serves: four people
Ingredients:
Four pork chops
One to two tbsp vegetable oil
One tbsp paprika
One tsp American burger seasoning
One tsp onion granules
One tsp garlic granules
One tsp dried parsley
One tsp crushed peppercorns
Salt
Couscous, corn on the cob and salad, to serve
Method
Preheat the air fryer to 200C. Dry the chops with kitchen paper then put them in a bowl and coat in the oil. Add all the seasonings and mix well to coat.
Cook in the air fryer for 10 to 12 minutes, or 14 minutes if the chops are extra-large.
Serve with couscous, corn on the cob and salad.
How to cook couscous
The perfect couscous is fluffy, light and seasoned well that only requires hot water.
Boil the kettle and pour the water over the couscous (and vegetable stock) inside of a saucepan, making sure the water is only slightly higher than the couscous.
Leave to simmer in the saucepan, topped with a lid, for about 10 minutes, then add some olive oil and use a fork to fluff up the couscous.
A great couscous salad could comprise of spring onions, red pepper, cucumber, feta cheese and pine nuts.
A couscous salad can have any herbs or salad ingredients you like the most, which means you can have a versatile side dish with pork chops every time.
