Nagarjuna’s Controversial N-Convention Centre Demolished, Telugu Actor Says ‘Wrong Actions Carried Out…’

The HYDRA demolished the N-Convention center owned by actor Nagarjuna Akkineni in Hyderabad. In a statement on X (previously known as Twitter), the actor referred to the demolition as ‘unlawful.’

Nagarjuna Akkineni responded to the demolition of his N-Convention Centre, which is situated in Hyderabad’s Madhapur neighbourhood. A recently established state government organization, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) demolished the house after it was purportedly discovered to have been constructed on encroached territory in the region of Thummidikunta Lake.

The star claimed that the building was destroyed despite a court-issued stay order in a lengthy letter posted on his X on Saturday. He wrote, “Pained by the unlawful manner of demolition carried out in respect of N Convention, contrary to existing stay orders and Court cases. I thought it fit to issue this statement to place on record certain facts for protecting my reputation and to indicate that we have not done any actions in violation of law. The land is a Patta land, and not even an inch of tank plan is encroached (sic).”

Regarding the building’s claims to have been built on private property, the actor stated that a stay order had been granted against any prior unlawful demolition notice. Based on inaccurate information, the demolition was incorrectly carried out. Before the demolition was done this morning, no notice was given. Nagarjuna stated he would have carried out the destruction himself for the sake of law and justice.

“I am placing this on record for the purpose of correcting any public misimpression about wrongful constructions or encroachment by us. We would be seeking appropriate relief from the Court in relation to the wrong actions carried out by the authorities (sic), ” he concluded.

The N Convention Center’s demolition is a component of HYDRA’s larger plan to recover public lands and protect Hyderabad’s waterways from unauthorized development.
