Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala promised forever to each other on August 8, 2024, as the two got engaged in an intimate ceremony in Hyderabad. The good news was shared by Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna, through an X (formerly known as Twitter) post. The Telugu superstar shared a picture of the couple, wishing them a happy future. Now, in an interview, Nagarjuna has opened up about the plans for his son and Sobhita’s wedding.

In an interview with Times Now, Nagarjuna was asked about the couple’s wedding date, to which he replied, “Not immediately, Subhash. Like I told you, we chose to have a hurried engagement because it was an auspicious day, and since Chay and Sobhita are very sure that they want to marry, we said, let’s do it.”
Nagarjuna Knew Sobhita Long Before Chaitanya
He further revealed that he knew Sobhita even before Chaitanya did. The actor said, “Very much so. In fact, you will be surprised to know that I knew her long before Chay. Yes! Chay got to know Sobhita two years ago, but I have known her for six years. I saw her in Adivi Sesh’s film Goodachari and liked her work. I told her that. From then on, we have had many discussions on cinema, life, and philosophy. Sobhita is a very well-informed girl.”
Meanwhile, on August 8, Nagarjuna shared heartwarming photos from his son Naga Chaitanya’s engagement ceremony with Sobhita Dhulipala. The proud father was pictured beaming with joy as he posed with the newly engaged couple. Sobhita looked radiant in a peach saree, while Naga Chaitanya complemented her in traditional attire.
Sharing the post on X, the actor wrote, “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!
