N.J. motorcyclist killed in crash with pickup truck

A motorcyclist died in a collision with a pickup truck on Saturday in Gloucester County, police said.

A 20-year-old Williamstown man was riding a motorcycle north on Route 42 (Black Horse Pike) in Monroe Township around 6:45 p.m. when he collided with a southbound pickup truck attempting to make a left turn from a left turn lane onto Prosser Avenue, according to Monroe Township Police.

The motorcycle hit the left side of the pickup and the force of the impact caused the truck to roll onto its roof off the roadway, police said.

The motorcycle rider, who was not identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver, a 71-year-old Williamstown man, suffered minor injuries.

No charges had been announced as of Tuesday, but the crash remains under investigation, police said.
