WHEN your dad achieved legendary status at multiple clubs, following in his footsteps might seem a difficult task.
But that’s not the case for one former Rangers skipper’s daughter.
David Weir looked to be towards the end of his career when he moved to Ibrox in January 2007, just four months shy of his 37th birthday.
Instead, spent five-and-a-half-years at the club and captained the Gers to title glory.
Weir made more than 200 appearances for the Light Blues and became the first ever Rangers player to be inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame while still an active player.
He captained Walter Smith’s men to three successive league titles in 2009, 2010 and 2011, also winning two Scottish Cups and three League Cups during his trophy-laden spell in Govan.

His superb form saw him named the SFWA Footballer of the Year in 2010 just three days before his 40th birthday, making him the oldest player to ever win the award.
He left the Light Blues in 2012 before moving into coaching, and would later return to the club as assistant manager to Mark Warburton.
Weir was also capped 69 times by Scotland, captaining his country on numerous occasions.
Before moving to Rangers, Weir had spent eight years with Everton, also becoming a legend at Goodison Park.
With 235 Premier League appearances under his belt, he was instrumental in helping the Toffees finish in a Champions League qualifying place in the 2004/05 season.
His tremendous career is a hard act to follow, but the former defender’s daughter Kenzie is now making her own way in the game.
Not only that, but she’s following in her dad’s footsteps.
Kenzie, who turns 20 this weekend, is an Everton player just like her father and made her first team debut as an 18-year old almost two years ago.
The moment came 23 years on from David’s first appearance for the club.
She said at the time: “It was unbelievable, I can’t really describe it. I’ve been working towards this moment for my whole time at Everton.”
Later that year, Kenzie signed her first professional contract with Everton on a deal until 2025.
After penning her contract, she said: “My dad obviously played and captained the team, and it has been a club that I have grown up with.
“He helps me and he has got experience with the club and how football works, but my whole family are so supportive.”
Internationally, Kenzie is also making inroads in following her father’s footsteps.
Having been capped at under-16 level, she’s represented the Scotland under-19s on 11 occasions.
And towards the end of last year, she received her maiden call-up to the under-23 side.
While Kenzie is under contract at Everton, she’s been playing in Scottish football this season.
She joined Glasgow City on a season-long loan deal last summer.
City currently sit third in the SWPL table behind Celtic in second and unbeaten leaders Rangers.
Kenzie’s older brother Jensen is also a professional footballer.
Contracted to Premier League side Brighton, he’s currently out on loan at Port Vale.
