Casting director Mukesh Chhabra recently appeared on Ranveer Allahbadia’s YouTube podcast, where he discussed various topics in Bollywood and also mentioned cricketer Virat Kohli. Although Virat, apart from being an ace cricketer, has been featured in several ads where he has shown decent acting skills, his fans have never seen him take up a film role. Mukesh Chhabra believes that he shouldn’t venture into films.

During the podcast, Mukesh praised Kohli for excelling in everything he does. Chhabra remarked, “He is already a great actor. He is from Delhi, he is Punjabi. He has lived that life. He has handled success beautifully. He has maintained himself on every level—competition, looks, fitness, mentally. He loves Chole Bhature; he’s a great guy.”
He continued, “He is also very funny. He can dance, and mimic, and his comic timing is great. He is doing an excellent job making the country proud; he should stay where he is and not join films. Even after retiring from his cricket career, he shouldn’t join films. He is genuinely a smart guy, not a cunning one.”
Mukesh also recalled meeting Virat Kohli a few years back, describing him as a ‘great husband and father.’ He said, “I met him 5–6 years ago at a party; today, he is a role model for everyone.”
Before Virat, several cricketers, including Shikhar Dhawan, Vinod Kambli, Ajay Jadeja, Sunil Gavaskar, Sandeep Patil, Harbhajan Singh, and Irfan Pathan, have tried their luck in movies.
