The MTC specified that up to six percent of the workforce at each depot can take leave under this auto-approval system, and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
To tackle absenteeism, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) is enforcing new leave rules for its bus drivers and conductors.
Starting November 1, 2024, staff must apply for leave using the MTC’s Staff Mobile App. Any leave taken without prior application will be marked as an absence, as per DT Next.
The MTC launched the Staff Mobile App on February 29, 2024, making it easier for drivers and conductors to request leave. To streamline this process, an auto-approval system will be implemented from November 1. Under this system, leave requests will be automatically approved for drivers who have worked at least 24 days in the previous month.
The auto-approval will follow a first-come, first-served basis, with up to 6 percent of the total workforce at each depot allowed to take leave at one time. If staff do not qualify for automatic leave approval, their requests will be reviewed by the branch manager.
This initiative aims to improve attendance and ensure smoother operations within the MTC.
