Mumbai: Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur is currently busy promoting her upcoming film ‘The Family Star’ featuring Vijay Deverakonda. During a candid conversation with Galataa Plus, the diva revealed that she planning on quitting the Telugu film industry due to personal reasons. After debuting alongside Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan in the film Sita Ramam. Mrunal decided to step down from the Telugu film market. Read on to find more details.
When Mrunal Thakur Planned To Quit The Telugu Film Industry
During a conversation with Galatta Plus Mrunal addressed the difficulties she was facing in the Telugu film market. In a candid conversation, Thakur revealed why she decided to quit the industry. She admitted that she felt, ‘handicapped’ not knowing how to speak Telugu as she was fluent in Hindi and Marathi. Not only that Mrunal had a hard time trying to dub and lip-sync her dialogues. Mrunal said, “I didn’t want to be in a space where I felt handicapped because I didn’t know the language. It made me restless, and I kid you not, I had moments when I wanted to give up. I have literally cried but every drop of tear has brought praise my way (sic).”
Mrunal Thakur recalled shooting her debut film Sita Ramam where she found it difficult to cope up with the language. She admitted to Dulquer Salmaan that she couldn’t keep up with the Telugu language and planned on quitting. The Hi Nanna actress said, “I remember we were shooting in Kashmir and I told him Sita Ramam will be my first and last Telugu film. I won’t do any more films in Telugu, I said. He just looked at me and said, we’ll see. I think today, one of the reasons I am considering branching out into Tamil or Kannada also is because he gave me the confidence to (sic).”
Mrunal Thakur’s Professional Front
Looking at Mrunal’s work front, the diva has been performing well since the release of Hi Nanna. The actress received praise for her acting in the film. Talking about her upcoming film, Mrunal has collaborated with Vijay Deverakonda in, ‘The Family Star’. The film is slated to release on April 5, 2024. Mrunal is also set to feature in Pooja Meri Jaan.
