The resident, who declined to be named, said: “I heard screams not long after I got up.
“It seemed unusual but I thought nothing more about it. A while later I heard more sirens and seen armed cops on the street.
“I was told to stay inside and I could hear them shouting at someone.
“Then there was several gunshots, a dozen maybe, all within a couple of minutes.
“I’ve no idea who was shot or what happened.”
Another resident said: “There are several rumours doing the rounds so I am not sure what has happened but there was about six or seven armed cops and I heard them telling the guy to get his hands on his head.
“He didn’t do it and then I heard several gun shots. I ran back into my house as I was terrified.”
