AR Rahman’s bassist Mohini Dey broke her silence on being linked up with AR Rahman and Saira Banu’s separation.
AR Rahman has been in the limelight after their wife Saira Banu on Tuesday announced separation. Hours after AR Rahman’s separation news broke, his bassist Mohini Dey also announced that she had parted ways with her husband Mark Hurtsuch. With both the news making headlines at the same time, netizens started to speculate a link between the two news. However, now finally, Mohini broke her silence on the matter.
Through an Instagram story, Mohini responded to the trolls and urged everyone to respect her privacy at this tough time. Dey also mentioned that she has rejected various interviews stating that she doesn’t waste her energy on baseless rumours. “I’ve been getting a humungous amount of requests for interviews and I know exactly what it’s about so, I have to respectfully turn each one down because I am not interested in fuelling into ABSOLUTE BS. I believe my energy is not worth spending on RUMOURS. Kindly, respect my privacy (sic),” Mohini’s caption read.

Earlier in the day, AR Rahman’s son Ameen also opened up on the matter and called the rumours ‘baseless.’ Taking to Instagram, he shared a picture of his father alongside an infant and asked people ‘what’s the difference’. He wrote a long caption and called the rumours of his father’s linkup with Mohini ‘baseless.’
Ameen wrote, “My father is a legend, not just for his incredible contributions, but for the values, respect, and love he has earned over the years. It’s disheartening to see false and baseless rumours being spread. Let us all remember the importance of truth and respect when speaking about someone’s life and legacy. Please refrain from engaging in or spreading such misinformation. Let’s honour and preserve his dignity and the incredible impact he has had on all of us. #EPI (sic).”
