Actor Mithun Chakraborty’s first wife Helena Luke has passed away in the US on November 3. Mithun was married to Helena for four months as their marriage didn’t last long. She had appeared in Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘ Mard’. The news of the passing of Luke was shared by famous dancer and actress Kalpana Iyer.
While the reason of Helena Luke’s death is still unknown, her last post on social media read, “Feeling weird. Mixed emotions and no clue why, discombobulated.”
In an interview with Stardust, Helena had spoken about her marriage, many years ago. She had said, “This four-month old marriage of mine is like a hazy dream now. I only wish it hadn’t happened. He was the one who brainwashed me into believing that he was the man for me. Unfortunately, he succeeded.”
Luke had further added that marrying him was a nightmare. “I was the one who walked out on him and asked for a divorce. He may be a star now, but that does not change my plans. I’ll never go back to him even if he is the richest guy around. I haven’t even asked for alimony. It was a nightmare and it’s over. I wish Mithun would stop talking about me. What I hate about Mithun is the way he treats his women as publicity props by discussing them and talking about them. As for me, this is the last time I’m speaking on this man. In a few months, our divorce will come through and he can do whatever he likes after that”, she had said further.
Helena was also seen in other movies like ‘Ek Naya Rishta’, ‘Mere Saath Chal’, ‘Do Gulaab’ among others. She lived in America for a long time and worked in Delta Airlines.
