MG Hector, Hector Plus & Astor See Price Hike on Select Variants in India; Check New Price & Other Details

Mumbai, June 16: MG Motor India has made an upward price revision for Hector, Hector Plus and the Astor SUV models on select variants. The Chinese-owned British carmaker’s popular two-row SUV – the Hector, became dearer by up to Rs. 22,000, varying across different variants. It’s worth noting that the base variant of the Hector has remained unaffected by this hike. Moreover, the petrol variant with a manual gearbox has become costlier by up to Rs. 20,000, while the automatic trim sees a price revision of up to Rs. 22,000. A similar price revision (up to Rs. 22,000) is seen for the diesel trims. With the latest revision, the MG Hector is now priced between Rs. 13.99 lakh to Rs. 22.24 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Cabs Hints About Upcoming Annual Event on August 15.

MG has also increased the price of its three-row version of the Hector, the Hector Plus by up to Rs. 30,000. The petrol variants with manual gearbox see a hike of up to Rs. 23,000, while the petrol automatic variant became costlier significantly by Rs. 25,000. Moreover, the price increment of the diesel variants ranges from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000. After price revision, the Hector Plus now costs from Rs. 17.30 lakh to Rs. 23.08 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

Prices of the Astor compact SUV have gone up by up to Rs. 38,000, varying across variants. MG sells the Astor SUV in six variants – Sprint, Shine, Select, Smart, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro. The automaker has increased prices for the two top-end variants only – Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro, which are Rs. 31,800 and Rs. 38,000, respectively. As the base variant remains unaffected by the price hike, the starting price of the SUV continues to stay the same – Rs. 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom).

Apart from the price revision, there are no changes to the SUVs. They continue to come with the same 1.5-litre NA petrol, a 1.3-litre turbo-charged petrol, and a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a CVT for petrol variants, whereas diesel options get a 6-speed manual gearbox.
