The Mets added a utility depth piece Monday, when they announced the signing of Jared Young to a major league deal.
The 29-year-old Young has played just 22 games in the majors — all with the Cubs and split between 2022 and ’23 — and split his time in Chicago between first base and the outfield.
Young, a left-handed hitter, spent much of last season playing in South Korea.
He also played 74 games for the Cardinals Triple-A Memphis affiliate in 2024.
