The Mercedes-Benz is all set to introduce the electrified version of its toughest SUV G-Wagon in India. The launch date has been set for January 9.
It has been reported that the upcoming G 580 will be equipped with EQ Technology, and will be based on a ladder-frame chassis. It will be just like its regular Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterpart but in silent mode.
Battery, Power and Acceleration
According to the details, the upcoming G 580 will get a robust 116 kWh battery pack, which will offer an impressive range of more than 380 km on a single charge. The unit will come with fast-charging capabilities of up to 200 kW using Level 3 DC charger. It will force the vehicle to go 10-80 percent in just 30 minutes.
The e-SUV will be powered by four electric motors – 2 at the front and two at the rear. This will allow the model to generate a maximum power of 580 bhp and 1165 Nm of peak torque.
It has been claimed by the brand that the electric G-Wagon will be capable of doing 0-98 km/h sprint in just 4.4 seconds, and will have a top speed of 180 km/h.
Design
When it comes to the design elements, the battery-powered model will share the identical style statement as ICE version. However. it will have some cosmetic updates, which will make it look different from the fuel version.
The model will come with a signature-style LED headlight setup, a glossy front grill, updated bumpers, and an uplifted bonnet. Some subtle changes also will be seen at the back as well, featuring updated taillights,a new style wheel cover among others
