New Delhi – Mercedes-Benz India has announced its best-ever annual sales performance, marking a significant milestone in its 30-year journey in the country. The luxury automaker sold 19,565 units in 2024, registering a robust 12.4% year-on-year growth compared to the 17,408 units sold in 2023. This achievement reaffirms Mercedes-Benz’s position as the most desirable luxury car brand in India.

Record-Breaking Sales Growth:
– The second half of 2024 (July-December) saw a 16% growth, while the year’s Top-End Vehicle (TEV) segment witnessed a 30% increase in sales.
– One in four Mercedes-Benz cars sold in India belonged to the TEV category, including models like the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and GLS SUV.
Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Sales Surge:
– BEV sales grew by an impressive 94%, with a 6% market penetration, making Mercedes-Benz the leader in the luxury EV segment in India.
– Key models, such as the EQS SUV and Maybach EQS SUV, drove this growth, further consolidating the brand’s EV portfolio.
Milestone of 200,000 Cars Sold in India:
– Since its entry into the Indian market in 1994, Mercedes-Benz has sold over 200,000 vehicles.
– The last 100,000 units were achieved in just six years (2019-2024), reflecting the rising aspirations of Indian customers.
Expanding Horizons in 2025
Mercedes-Benz plans to sustain its momentum in 2025 with several strategic initiatives:
– New Launches: The company will introduce eight new models, focusing heavily on BEVs and TEVs, catering to evolving customer preferences.
– Network Expansion: 20 new luxury outlets are planned, including entries into cities like Agra, Kanpur, Jammu, and Patna, supported by an investment of over ₹450 crores by franchise partners.
– Collaboration with Tata Cliq Luxury: The ‘House of Mercedes-Benz’ collection will offer exclusive branded merchandise online.
Corporate Citizenship and Customer Engagement
Marking the sale of 200,000 units, Mercedes-Benz has committed ₹75 million towards road safety initiatives on highways such as Samruddhi Mahamarg and Nizamabad Corridor. Additionally, a celebratory campaign offers exclusive events for existing customers and a chance for a new customer to witness the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix.
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services
The brand’s financial services arm crossed a ₹10,000 crore portfolio in India, with every second car financed through its schemes. Innovative financing options, such as STAR Agility, are gaining traction among younger, salaried customers.
