After a couple of unsuccessful attempts at the exam in 2018, Sarjana made up her mind to quit her job in order to give her undivided attention towards her studies. It turned out to be a wise decision as finally on her third shot in 2019, she nailed the UPSC exam, securing an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 126, and she managed all of this without any coaching assistance.
Sarjna emphasizes that the scope of the UPSC syllabus is vast, cautioning that trying to read multiple books for each subject may prevent proper syllabus coverage in time. Her advice? Choose one quality reference per subject, digging deep into its contents. If there are topics the book doesn’t cover, she suggests a practical solution – searching online or using easy-to-find resources instead of breaking your head over an additional book.
