Rags to riches story of a social media star
We are talking about Faisal Shaikh aka Mr Faisu. He is an Indian TikTok star and also a model and social media influencer. He became famous because of his funny video clips and lip-sync videos on TikTok. He had once revealed his rags to riches story in his videos. He shared that his family was poor and he used to help his father in a small nightie business. Later, he got a job as a salesman on Linking Road and he used to get on Rs 50 per day.
He was 21 and was in college. He used to go to college at 6 am and then go for work and returned home at 12 am. He used to cry because he couldn’t afford mom’s medical bills or dad’s treatment. He also begged for loans and was once removed from his job as he broke a perfume bottle worth Rs 12,000.
He did not lose hope and found another job. He started making 14 videos a year. He made these videos during his travel time, lunch breaks. Soon, people did start recognising him but his parents were not happy. He shared, “Before I knew it, students began recognizing me & customers at work knew me as the ‘guy who made Tik-Tok videos’! But my parents wanted me to get an MBA, not be an unpaid ‘hero’ & my relatives thought ‘ladka barbaad ho gaya’.”
He soon started getting success and he was called for events. He then started deodorant brand on Instagram and in 30 minutes, they got 5000 pre-orders and in 2 hours everything was sold out. He shared in his videos how he got his sister married in a grand way. He also has a luxurious house now and a BMW today.
He has been a part of popular TV reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Laughter Chefs and is currently seen in Celebrity MasterChef.
