Meet man who failed in NEET, JEE, studied in govt school, moved to Pune, went to MIT, he is now…

He started focusing on understanding instead of memorising.

New Delhi: It is said that if there is a passion to do something, then failure cannot stop you from touching the heights. Similar is the story of a man who started his educational journey as an average student. He started studying in Bengali medium and due to lack of proper guidance to studies, he was not able to enjoy studying as it felt like a necessary burden. Then, he devised an idea in Class 10. He started focusing on understanding instead of memorisation, which changed his thinking and moved him forward and ahead.

The person we are talking about is Hritwik Haldar.

First success in high school

On the strength of his efforts, Hritwik scored 93.4% marks in high school. However, after this, there was a struggle in exams like JEE, JEE Advanced, NEET and KVPY. Despite failing in these exams, he did not give up. The opportunity to study at the Ramakrishna Mission School (RKM) in Belur proved to be a game-changer in Hritvik’s life. The library and emphasis on self-study gave him an opportunity to improve his scientific knowledge, especially chemistry.

Although he again failed in the KVPY SB exam, he got 10th rank in the SC category and took admission in IISER Pune.

Got admission in MIT

At IISER Pune, Hritvik reached the peak of his academic journey and developed skills such as critical thinking and concept building in research environment. Here he maintained a 9.1 GPA and made significant achievements. His hard work and dedication at IISER opened the door to entry into Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This is a testimony to his perseverance and dedication towards self-study.

His story teaches us that failures are only a stepping stone to the next attempt and with hard work and dedication and one can scale any height.
