Hailing from Odisha, Jay Kishore Pradhan has retired as a deputy manager from the State Bank of India (SBI). Following his retirement, he decided to pursue his long-held dream of a career in the medical field. Determined to achieve this goal, Pradhan began preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) while balancing his academic ambitions with his familial responsibilities.
Pradhan even enrolled in an online coaching program to systematically understand the NEET curriculum. Despite encountering various challenges along the way, he remained committed to overcoming them and stayed focused on his goal of passing the medical entrance exam.
In 2020, Jay Kishore Pradhan cleared the NEET examination. He secured a seat at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR). As per Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the NEET (UG) has to be conducted as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cumEntrance Test [(NEET (UG)]. As per Letter No. U-11022/2/2022-UGMEB, dated 09 March 2022 received from National Medical Commission (NMC), Under the Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) regarding the upper age limit, there is no upper age
limit.
