Right behind Shah Rukh Khan is Tamil cinema’s Thalapathy Vijay, who contributed ₹80 crore, followed by Salman Khan at ₹75 crore, Amitabh Bachchan at ₹71 crore, and cricket icon Virat Kohli, who paid ₹66 crore in taxes.
Other stars making a significant impact on the tax-paying list include Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, and Pankaj Tripathi. Bollywood’s top actresses also feature prominently, with Kareena Kapoor paying ₹20 crore and Katrina Kaif contributing ₹11 crore in advance taxes. These two are among the wealthiest actresses in the industry based on their tax payments.
In the world of sports, cricket player Virat Kohli topped the tax-paying list, with a total of ₹66 crore. He also emerged as the richest player in the country. Following him is former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni, who paid ₹38 crore. Other cricketing legends such as Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, along with rising stars like Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant, also feature on the list of top taxpayers.
Interestingly, comedian Kapil Sharma ranks as the top TV star in terms of tax payments, with an impressive ₹26 crore in advance taxes for the financial year 2024.
