Ansar Shaikh belongs to a very poor family. His father is an autorickshaw driver. The family faced severe financial difficulties. The hardship led to Ansar’s brother dropping out of school, while his two sisters were married at an early age. Due to the family’s poor economic condition, Ansar’s father once visited his school intending to withdraw him from his studies.
However, teachers recognised Ansar’s dedication and convinced his father to allow him to continue his education. This decision marked a turning point in Ansar’s life.
Success Story: Clearing UPSC In First Attempt
Since his childhood, Ansar Shaikh was a diligent student. He scored 91 percent in his Class 12 exams and graduated with 73 percent from Pune’s Fergusson College with a degree in Political Science.
To prepare for the UPSC exam, Ansar started coaching for one year and then spent three years rigorously studying. His determination paid off when he appeared for the exam and achieved an impressive rank of 361 on his very first attempt. He cleared all the phases of UPSC and became an IAS officer.
