Raima Sen was born to actress Moon Moon Sen and Bharat Dev Varma. She is the grand-daughter of famous actress Suchitra Sen. Reportedly, her father belongs to the Royal Family of Tripura and Ila devi, princess of Cooch Behar was her paternal grandmother. Ila Devi’s younger sister is Gayatri Devi, who was the Maharani (Queen) of Jaipur. Ila Devi’s mother Indira Devi happened to be the only daughter of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III of Baroda.
Raima Sen is known for her outspokenness. She made her debut with a small role in the film Godmother along side Shabana Azmi. She has never shied away from calling spade a spade. Sen has also been open about the dull phase in her life when she was not offered lot of movies. In an old interview with Times Now Digital, the ‘Vaccine War’ actress said, “Before Chokher Bali there was a little dull period of 2-3 years, where I did not get any work. It was pretty depressing and that was a long time back. People not getting back to you took a huge beating to me and to my own confidence,” the actress revealed, adding that she while she did go through with that, in retrospect, she realises it made her stronger.If someone replaces me or does not call me back today, I am ok with this. I have been there and done that. I feel that maybe I do not look like the role or fit the part.”
On the work front, she recently was featured in a movie titled, ‘Aliyah Basu Gayab Hai,’ which is a suspense-thriller.
