Sharad made his Bollywood debut with the film Dastak in 1996, where he played a character with grey shades. The movie also featured Sushmita Sen. While Sushmita went on to become a top lead actress, Sharad’s career suffered a setback.
After a string of flop films, Sharad’s career witnessed a massive decline, and he was later not even considered for movies. Apart from his professional life, the actor made headlines due to his personal life. He garnered attention when he tied the knot with Koel Basu in 2008, who is the granddaughter of Jyoti Basu, the former Chief Minister of West Bengal. Currently, the couple enjoys a comfortable life in Mumbai.

Sharad Kapoor is also a successful businessman and owns two big restaurants in Mumbai and Bangalore.
