McDonald’s launches new menu item with ‘Famous Orders’

McDonald’s has unveiled a new addition to the menu, allowing customers to enjoy the favourite meal of one of Britain’s top music artists.

In a fresh partnership with Stormzy, the fast-food restaurant has introduced its inaugural ‘Famous Orders’ in the UK.

The concept of ‘Famous Orders’ was first launched by McDonald’s in the US, featuring celebrities like musicians Travis Scott, J Balvin, Saweetie, BTS and Mariah Carey, as well as YouTuber Kai Cenat, who all shared their preferred menu items for fans to sample.

Now, ‘Famous Orders’ has arrived in the UK and Ireland for a limited period.

Starting from February 12, both Stormzy fans and food lovers will have the chance to savour his favourite order.

The star’s special selection includes nine Chicken McNuggets made with 100 percent chicken breast in a tasty crispy coating, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, served with McDonald’s world-renowned Fries and two barbecue dips, the irresistible Oreo McFlurry or a delightful Apple Pie and the refreshing fizziness of a Sprite Zero.

But there’s more – every Stormzy meal bought in-store will come with a set of premium limited-edition stickers, enabling fans to personalise their tech with #BigMike codes.

Stormzy and McDonald’s superfans will also have the opportunity to grab exclusive merchandise only available through the McDonald’s App.

McDonald’s enthusiasts can now win exclusive prizes, including a 40,000 Points McDonald’s x Stormzy Tumbler, 15,000 Points Limited Edition Stormzy Posters, and 4,000 Points Stormzy Pin Badges.

For those in Croydon, where the grime artist originates, there’s an extra treat; local McDonald’s outlets will celebrate Stormzy by offering fans from the area early access to his meal on February 10, two days before its general release, reports the Mirror.

Stormzy, who frequented McDonald’s in his youth, expressed his excitement: “I am so gassed for my McDonald’s order to be the first ever ‘Famous Order’ in the UK and Ireland. Never thought I’d have my own order on the official menu. That’s mad.”

Ben Fox, McDonald’s UK and Ireland Chief Marketing Officer, commented on the collaboration: “Stormzy is a McDonald’s fan through and through and a ‘true’ Global icon. This makes him the perfect superstar to bring to life the fact that no matter how famous you are, everyone has a favourite, go to McDonald’s order.”

Fox added: “Introducing Stormzy’s signature order is an incredible moment for the brand; two icons colliding, giving everyone the chance to eat just like Big Mike at McDonald’s and, if they are lucky, to nab some exclusive branded merch.”
