McDonald’s issues urgent warning to all customers about its fries

McDonald’s chiefs have sent out a “last chance” alert to fry aficionados with a daily countdown.

The fast-food giant has been dishing out its ‘peel-to-play promotion’ since May 29, giving diners the chance to win mega prizes.

Customers who buy medium or large fries have the opportunity to peel off a sticker and win from a pool of millions of rewards.

With a one in three chance of snagging an instant prize and two in three chances of receiving a code for the McDonald’s app, participants could walk away with everything from summer festival tickets, or cash, to coveted menu items, and exclusive brand merchandise.

Plus, anyone who puts 10 codes into the app will be rewarded with 2,500 MyMcDonald’s Rewards points, redeemable for various menu delights or another portion of fries to keep the winning streak going.

A staggering 2.2 million people have already won big on the promotion, with £700,000 paid out in cash, £15,000 in See Tickets vouchers, and almost two million food prizes.

More than 80 million MyMcDonald’s Rewards have been issued on top of that. And there’s still time to win with the promotion on offer for another few days.

Fans of the beloved burger joint will have to be quick though as the peel-to-play game ends on July 2, 2024.

It comes ahead of the brand’s Monopoly promotion, which will return later this year.

Inspired by the classic board game, the competition allows customers aged 18 plus to collect stickers from special menu items to win a range of prizes.

It’s not yet clear when the McDonald’s Monopoly scheme will run in 2024. Last year, it was active between September 6 and October 17.

As has been the case in recent years, customers will be able to store all their stickers online on the McDonald’s Monopoly website or app – gone are the days of keeping the greasy plastic tabs safe.
