A MASSIVE whale has washed up on the coast as locals have been told to “stay away.”
Members of the public reported the stranding of the dead mammal to experts.
It was discovered on the shores of the Firth of Forth on Wednesday between Culross and Longannet power station.
A video shows the waves rippling around the creature lying on its back, stuck on the land, and not moving.
The tragic news was shared on Culross Stables Community Hub’s Facebook page.
It said: “Poor whale washed up on the shoreline just along from the flume.”
Marina Howison-hood, wrote: “The poor thing is already dead, so please stay away.
Elizabeth Campbell said: “Oh no, I hate seeing this.”
The British Divers Marine Life Rescue said they were aware of the whale and urged locals to stay away from the area.
It added: “We were told that it had been stranded and died. Our advice would be to keep your distance and keep dogs away.”
A total of three or four whales are reported to wash up on East Lothian beaches every year.

It comes after marine experts faced a “race against time” to solve the UK‘s biggest-ever mass stranding on a Scottish beach.
More than 55 pilot whales were discovered at Traigh Mhor in North Tolsta, on the Isle of Lewis, in July last year.
Specialist equipment and more volunteers were scrambled from the mainland.
