Mary Berry’s creamy pasta dish is ready in 15 minutes and is the perfect midweek dinner

It can be tricky to decide what to make for dinner, and sometimes you can want something homecooked without wishing to spend ages hoovering over the stove.

Mary Berry’s 15-minute pasta dish is fantastic to make during the week and not only is it a quick recipe but incredibly tasty.

This cheesy pasta is topped with crispy parmesan and earthy mushrooms in a creamy sauce, making it a comforting meal bursting with flavour.

In her cookbook ‘Mary Berry Cooks’, Mary said this is perfect for an easy but tasty midweek dinner.

She said: “This is my standby pasta supper – great for everyday family meals or for casual supper parties too. If you don’t have Parma ham, then Black Forest ham or Serrano ham work just as well.”

Method

To begin, cook the pasta in boiling salted water and follow the packet instructions, then drain and set aside.

Heat the oil in a frying pan, add half of the parma half, and fry until crispy, then, remove and set aside.

Chop up the mushrooms into quarters, add to the pan and fry for two minutes, then pour the creme fraiche and bring to a boil.

Add the pasta, parmesan, parsley, and remaining uncooked parma ham to the pan and toss together on a medium heat.

Season the pasta well, topped with the crispy parma ham and your tasty pasta is ready to serve.

Serve with a fresh green salad and crusty bread if you prefer.
