Marks and Spencer shoppers rush to buy ‘unreal’ new desserts

Marks and Spencer has unveiled a new selection of “ridiculously good” desserts that are causing quite the stir among sweet-toothed shoppers.

The supermarket’s latest offering of indulgent treats ranges from “loaded” ice creams to an assortment of “yumnuts” and mousse cakes.

Despite being brand new, the desserts have been flying off the shelves at a rapid rate, with some customers declaring that they “need them in their life”.

The success of the retailer’s previous ‘yumnut’ collection has led Marks and Spencer to introduce new flavours such as cream-filled Eton Mess, lemon meringue, and caramelised biscuit, with a box of two priced at an affordable £5.

It’s not just the doughnut-style treats that have been a hit. New Colin the Caterpillar-themed puddings have also tempted customers.

A spokesperson for M&S commented: “Our Yumnuts are perfectly created using our unique butter enriched yum yum recipe with lots of lovely laminations which gives a delicious open texture.”

New Food UK, a Facebook page, raved: “New Cream Filled Caramelised Biscuit Yumnuts from M&S! These really are as good as they sound! Can’t wait to try the others!”

The announcement quickly went viral, prompting one enthusiast to respond: “I really want to try these.”

Another chimed in: “These sounds absolutely incredible”, reported the Manchester Evening News.

Further expanding their dessert range, the Food Spotter blog disclosed that M&S now offers triple-layered chocolate brownie mousse cakes, banoffee mousse cakes, and hazelnut praline mousse cakes.

Additionally, a cafe latte mousse, a Colin the Caterpillar mousse, a chocolate orange mousse, and a banoffee cheesecake have also made their debut on the shelves.

Trifle fans will be pleased to find a new summer version of the Christmas Trifle Caked Alaska, which comprises a sugar-soaked sponge, raspberries, toasted almonds and custard.

Ice cream lovers can enjoy a Movie Night tub that combines popcorn-flavoured ice cream with chocolate caramel cups, chocolate-coated salted pretzels and a caramel swirl.

Alternatively, try the Trifle Caked Alaska flavour, nutty Nut Your Average ice cream, or the Top of the Chocs tub.

The creamy, frozen treats are available in-store or for £4 per tub at Ocado.
