COPS have launched a manhunt following a “targeted” shooting in Glasgow which saw a person rushed to hospital.
Mercy crews raced to Drumoyne Road in the Govan area around 4pm yesterday following reports of a firearm being discharged within a local shop.
A 52-year-old man was found injured inside a premises and was rushed to hospital, where medics describe his condition as stable.
Cops today confirmed the incident is being treated as a “targeted” shooting.
Officers are carrying out an extensive investigation in the area including door-to-door and CCTV enquiries.
There is not thought to be any wider risk to the public.
Armed response units were stood down last night while police sealed off several streets around the scene.
One resident said: “I was just sitting in the house when I saw all the blue lights.
“At first I thought it was an ambulance or something but when I came outside I saw the whole street closed off.
“It’s shocking, nothing like this ever happens around here.”
Detectives arrived on the scene and began photographing the area outside the row of shops.
Forensics then arrived and were seen entering the store and taking more photographs.
Anyone with any information about the incident is urged to contact Police Scotland.
Chief Inspector Jordan Dickson said: “We believe this was a targeted incident and there is not thought to be any wider risk to the public.
“Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries, including door-to-door and CCTV work. Extra patrols are also being carried out.
