Man gets huge bill at Gordon Ramsay’s steakhouse for not reading menu carefully

A customer was left with an eye-watering bill after misreading the menu at a Gordon Ramsay steakhouse – but says he regrets nothing.

Visiting Atlantic City with his girlfriend, Jeffrey Paige made a reservation for outdoor dining for Gordon Ramsay Steak at Harrah’s.

He planned to splurge on some Wagyu beef, but saw that the “real deal” Triple Seared Japanese A5 was on the menu – also known as Kobe and widely considered to be the finest cut available.

Jeffrey said he was surprised to see that it appeared to be cheaper than the American Wagyu, saying it cost about £26 for 4oz, compared to about £59 for 8oz of Wagyu.

“I had never had real deal Kobe,” he said speaking to The Mirror. “It was like nothing else you’ll ever have. Melt in your mouth delicious. We also ordered a couple of sides, appetisers, and my girlfriend tried chef Ramsay’s famous beef wellington for the first time ever.”

He added with a smile: “I enjoyed the hell out of it. No regrets baby! “

He went on to say: “My family and I are huge Gordon Ramsay fans, we watch his shows – Hell’s Kitchen, Masterchef – and I’ve been to his restaurants before and loved everything we’ve gotten.”

He reflected on the meal: “The steak and the experience were unforgettable, and if I had to make this blunder at any restaurant in the world, I’m glad it was at Chef Ramsay’s.”

After he posted his story on Reddit, someone replied: “What you bought was a $600 story. For the rest of your life, every time someone says ‘this is good steak’ you can say ‘Yeah, but..'”

Another person reacted: “Thank God it was delicious but that bill… ouch.”
