A MAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged attempted murder in Stranraer.
Emergency services raced to the scene at a property on Mount Vernon Road at around 7.50pm last night.
A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital after the alleged incident.
He was treated at nearby Galloway Community Hospital for his serious injuries.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged attack.
The man’s current condition is unknown.
Police, ambulances and a fire engine were called in.
The street was locked down by police with the area taped off.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged attempted murder in Stranraer.
“The incident was reported around 7.50pm on Saturday, 23 December and allegedly happened at a property on Mount Vernon Road.
“A 27-year-old man was taken to Galloway Community Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
“Further enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 3293 of 23 December.”
