SINGAPORE: A 47-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Sunday (Mar 24) following an accident in Woodlands involving a car and motorcycle.
The police said they were alerted to the accident at Woodlands Avenue 12 at about 10.10pm on Saturday.
The driver had stopped his vehicle at the side of the road, before allegedly reversing into the motorcycle. CNA understands that the motorcyclist and pillion rider were not on the bike when this happened.
The driver then accelerated forward and went over the bike before driving off, the police said in a news release.
Through immediate follow-up investigations, the police established the identity of the man and arrested him within three hours of the report.
The man will be charged in court on Monday for the offence of rash conduct. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to one year, a fine of up to S$5,000, or both.
