Malaika Arora and her mother Joyce Polycarp were seen leaving their building to attend the funeral of the late Anil Mehta. The actor’s father died by died at the age of 62 due to suicide. Malaika was seen consoling her inconsolable mother as they arrived for Anil’s funeral. In a video shared by paparazzi, Malaika is seen offering emotional support to Joyce during this incredibly difficult time.
The emotional video captured Malaika walking beside her mother, visibly distressed but trying to stay strong for her. Both Malaika and her sister Amrita Arora were present at the funeral, along with close friends like Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor, who were there to offer support.
The post-mortem was conducted at Bandra’s Bhabha Hospital. According to News18, the post-mortem that was conducted on September 11 around 8 pm revealed that the reason for death is “multiple injuries”. Anil Mehta allegedly died by suicide by jumping off the balcony of his sixth-floor residence in Bandra’s Ayesha Manor building.

Shortly after the incident, Mumbai police officials recorded a statement from her mother, Joyce Polycarp. According to sources, Joyce informed the police that Anil had a routine of sitting on the balcony and reading the newspaper each morning. Though the couple had divorced years ago, they had been living together again for some time. There’s another update in the case, an unknown source has confirmed Anil made a final phone call to his daughters, Malaika and Amrita, just hours before his death. According to sources, he allegedly told them, “I am sick and tired,” although this information has yet to be officially verified.
The police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding Anil Arora’s death, and the family is mourning this tragedy privately.

She posted on Instagram, “The note read, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support, and respect.
