Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar’s Dostana 2 was eagerly awaited by fans. Initially, the film was set to star Kartik, Janhvi Kapoor, and Laksh Lalwani. However, on April 16, 2021, Dharma Productions announced a major change: the cast would be reconsidered. Their statement mentioned “professional circumstances” and chose to maintain a “dignified silence” on the details. This announcement shocked fans and fueled rumours of a fallout between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan. It was speculated that Kartik left the project due to creative differences, although he did not comment on the matter at the time.
Kartik Aaryan Breaks Silence on Alleged Rift Rumours With Karan Johar
Recently, during the promotion of Chandu Champion, Kartik Aaryan addressed these rumours in an interview with The Lallantop. He mentioned that the news is old now and often, misunderstandings or exaggerated reports can occur. Kartik said he remained silent then and continues to do so, focusing entirely on his work. He stated, “I was silent when the news came out, and I choose to stay silent even now. I am 100% focused on my work and stay calm when controversies arise. I don’t get involved in them as I don’t have to prove anything to anyone.”
“Main tab bhi silent tha, aaj bhi silent hoon un baaton pe. Main 100% kaam karta hu lekin jab bhi aise koi khabar aati hai ya koi controversy aa jati hai to main apne shell mein rehta huin, main shant rehta hoon. Main un cheezon mein zyada ghusta nahi hoon, na kuch prove karne se mujhe kuch milta hai”, Kartik was quoted.
Kartik Aaryan is now preparing for the release of Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion, which will hit theaters on June 14. He also has Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 in the pipeline, co-starring Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan.
