To benefit Ganeshotsav travelers, the Maharashtra government will waive tolls for all Ganesha devotees from September 5 to 19, easing their journey
In an effort to please commuters during Ganeshotsav, the Maharashtra government has decided to waive toll tax for all Ganesha devotees from Thursday, September 5 to September 19.
Ganesh devotees from across the state travel to their villages for Ganeshotsav, often paying tolls along the way. However, during Ganeshotsav, tolls will be discounted, providing relief and benefits to the devotees.
Ganesh devotees will be exempted from tolls on the Mumbai-Goa Highway, Mumbai-Bangalore Highway, and all toll booths under the Public Works Department and Maharashtra Road Development Corporation. The state government has issued a circular directing the toll administration to implement this order.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has spearheaded efforts for an eco-friendly Ganeshotsav. He has urged devotees to use Shadu clay idols instead of Plaster of Paris ones.
Additionally, authorities have been directed to immediately repair all potholes on arrival and immersion routes, before the festival. The Chief Minister has also instructed to increase the number of artificial lakes in all cities, including Mumbai.
The government has been taking measures to ensure that potholes do not hinder travel for those heading to Konkan for Ganeshotsav. Chief Minister Shinde has pledged to make the Mumbai-Goa highway pothole-free before the festival.
