Priyanka Chopra has skillfully carved out a successful niche for herself in both Bollywood and Hollywood, balancing her work in both industries with remarkable finesse.
In a conversation with Breaking Stereotypes, Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra, shared her perspective on the challenges Priyanka faced in the early days of her career. She explained that when they first entered the Indian film industry, they were unaware of its darker side, but soon realized the tough realities it held.
Madhu shared that in the beginning, things were a bit difficult for Priyanka. However, Priyanka eventually sat down with her and her late husband, Ashok Chopra, and reassured them by saying, “Mom, you know me best. So why believe all the nonsense?” After that, things improved for the family.
Priyanka made her Bollywood debut with the film The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, directed by Anil Sharma. The movie also starred Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and the legendary Amrish Puri in key roles.
The actress has earned numerous accolades for her acting, including a National Film Award for her role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s 2008 film Fashion, along with Awards.
After achieving success in Bollywood, PeeCee ventured into Hollywood, making her acting debut with the TV show Quantico in 2015. She went on to star in films like We Can Be Heroes, The Matrix Resurrections, Love Again, and the web series Citadel.
On the work front, the Desi diva will next appear in the film Heads of State, starring alongside John Cena and Idris Elba. She also has The Bluff and Citadel Season 2 lined up.
