At the trailer launch of their documentary film ‘Angry Young Man’, Javed Akhtar has announced their re-union. When asked about their favourite dialogue, Akhtar revealed, “Ab aayega woh,” leaving everyone shocked. He further added, We are going to write now. I have spoken to Salim sahab se baat ki, ke ek aur aakhri film, saath mein likhni chahiye.”
Salman reacted to it and said, “Line yahan se shuru hoti hai.”
Akhtar further joked that they were paid more than the hero of the film in the 70s and 80s and were the highest paid, so in today’s day and age, they would be charging a bomb. People should know that. “Uss zamane mein bhi hamari price zyada thi, iss zamane mein toh bohot hi zyada hogi, woh dekh lijiyega aap,” said Javed Akhtar.
Salim-Javed had last written ‘Mr India’ which released in 1987.
